Toshiba Satellite P100-222
Reviews for the Toshiba Satellite P100-222
I wanted a machine that I could carry around every once in a while and have it rest on my desk the rest of the time. I'm not a big fan of 17" desktop replacements. I prefer laptops that you can actually put on your lap. With this though, I have no regrets and am enjoying the power very much. It's like having a future proof laptop that you know will last. At under 8 pounds, it's not impossible to carry around.

CommentNVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS: This is the smaller version of the 7900 GTX with less shader- and vertex-pipelines and less current consumption. Nevertheless it is not apt for small notebooks. The performance is near to the 7800 GTX, but needs clearly less energy. It was used in 17" notebooks, because of heat issues. Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards. » Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.
Intel Core Duo: Double Core processor with a very good relation of performance to current consumption. The 2 MB L2 Cache are used together by the double. The maximum capacity of 31 watts is only 4 watts more than with the Pentium M (predecessor). Both cores are lowered automatically and independently of each other by speed steps down to 1 GHz. In addition it now supports also SSE3 instructions. At least it is just as fast as a equivalent Pentium M. With applications, which were designed for multi-processors, the performance can be nearly twice as fast as with the Pentium M (e.g. CineBench around 86% fast)
T2600: Second fastest Core Duo based on the Yonah core. Does not support 64 Bit operating systems.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
This large display size is used for laptops which are mainly intended for an use on a desk.
Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
This weight is representative for typical laptops with a 14-16 inch display-diagonal.
