The Toshiba Thrive gets rooted

Teaser
The new Toshiba Thrive is just out recently, and already rooted to add Superuser access and ClockworkMod recovery

We have a host of unofficially rooted Android devices today thanks to the incredible hackers out there, and the latest in this list is the recently released Toshiba Thrive tablet. This toy from Toshiba went live last month running Android 3.1 and has already been rooted by some members of “Toshiba Thrive forum” to add Superuser access and flash ClockworkMod recovery. Although they still don’t have the read/write access to the system directory of Android, everything else is in place.

This is not a one-touch rooting process though. You’ll need to download and install the Android Software Developer Kit on your computer and make sure fastboot is working so that you can flash a custom recovery image.

The Toshiba Thrive is a 10” 1280 x 800 pixels tablet running Google Android 3.1, a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor and up to 32GB of internal storage depending on which model you want.
