Toshiba’s first foray into the Android tablet market officially launched today, and it looks like the company is doing what it can to ensure customer satisfaction.
According to early adopters, a software update for the tablet has begun rolling out; although the specific details are a bit vague. As of now, not much is known about the OTA update, but it seems to include improved multi-touch support and other minor updates. This makes sense as the tablet already comes with Android Honeycomb 3.1, and no major changes are probably warranted.
The Toshiba Thrive features a 10.1” 1280x800 pixel display, an NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, a user-replaceable battery and a plethora of different ports. The 8GB version of the tablet can currently be had for $430 while the 16GB and 32GB models sell for $480 and $630, respectively.
