Tesla has seemingly pulled out all stops when it comes to promotions and incentives to sell as many cars as possible before the federal tax credit expires at the end of the quarter.
It is apparently still not done, though, introducing a lease deal for its most powerful Model 3 Performance trim that accelerates as quickly as cars that cost three times as much.
To get the Model 3 Performance under the $55,000 price threshold that qualifies the popular white interior trim for the full $7,500 federal tax credit amount, Tesla is now offering any color for free, too, even ones like Ultra Red that are a $2,000 value.
This is on top of the zero interest rate financing that Tesla runs on the Model 3 with FSD purchase, or the free Supercharging promo offer for it in the first 18 months of ownership.
Since the vast majority of Tesla owners prefer to lease their car, the EV maker just announced a Model 3 Performance lease deal that will see them paying $3,000 down then $699/month with the federal tax credit applied, even for the coveted combo of Ultra Red paint and white interior.
While a seven hundred dollar lease may not sound like a deal, it is for the Performance variant that can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds. After all, the average monthly car lease in the US is $745 now, and fans of sports sedans will be getting much more for that significant outlay than from their average vehicle.
With this Performance trim lease and color deals, Tesla adds to an already extraordinary number of promos going on, with the Model 3 being the subject of nearly all incentive types its sales team has ever concocted.
All Tesla Model 3 deals
- 0% APR financing rate with FSD purchase or transfer.
- 2.49% APR financing without FSD.
- $299/month lease for the Model 3 RWD.
- $699/month lease for the Model 3 Performance.
- Free Supercharging for 18 months.
- Free FSD transfer.
- Free colors.
- One free option upgrade on inventory units.
The monthly lease deal indeed feels like a lot even with $3,000 down, yet the Model 3 Performance is still the gold standard when it comes to affordable sports sedans.
The newly announced direct Hyundai Ioniq 6 N competitor, for instance, is slower and more expensive, so Tesla might see some uptake before the tax credit is nixed on September 30, 2025.
