Targus launches its new USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Dual Video Docking Station

The US-based provider of laptop cases, bags and accessories, Targus, has announced in a press release the availability of its latest docking station, dubbed USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Dual Video. The device delivers a number of innovative technological solutions and can be placed under a notebook to save more space.

Reportedly, the new docking station houses four USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports for connecting external HD drives, cameras and other devices. Furthermore, there is one DVI-I to VGA adapter and one HDMI to DVI-D module. A USB 3.0 graphics technology by DisplayLink supposedly enables users to connect two external monitors with resolutions of up to 2048-by-1152 pixels.

Carolyn Perrier, who acts as VP of product management and marketing is quoted as saying "As more peripherals incorporate USB 3.0 technology it is important to offer a docking solution that can meet the power and performance demands of these devices,"… “Being the first to offer a USB 3.0 docking station, Targus continues its mission to provide businesses with pioneering technology while lowering TCO and improving productivity."

According to the manufacture, there are two high-powered USB ports that support Battery Charging Specification 1.1 and can be used even if your laptop is disconnected. The USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Dual Video docking station also ships with “first-of-its-kind” high-speed Gigabit Ethernet via USB solution and is priced at $199.
