Dell officially launches new Precision Mobile Workstation notebooks

Teaser
Dell's Precision M4600 and M6600 notebooks should be available around the world on May 10th

Two days ago an online user manual detailed most of the specs for Dell’s new Mobile Workstation notebooks, and now the company has officially launched the laptops. In a press release, Dell announced that their new M4600 and M6600 Precision notebooks will be available on the 10th of next month and will “enable professionals to work anywhere, anytime without sacrificing performance”.

While the user manual already detailed most of the laptops' specs, a few tasty bits were omitted. In addition to the Intel Sandy Bridge processors (up to an i7 Quad Extreme) and NVIDIA Quadro/AMD FirePro GPU options, the two notebooks will have the option for multiple storage drives featuring RAID support. The 15.6” M4600 and 17.3” M6600 will also have the option for an IPS Full-HD display and four-finger multi-touch support. The laptops will come with up to 32GB of RAM and NVIDIA Optimus to help extend battery life.

As for the new Precision notebooks' design, Dell has encased the laptops in an aluminum and magnesium alloy casing that’s tested for MIL-STD 810G against extreme temperatures, vibration, dust, altitude and shock. The notebooks will also include an “easy-access” bottom door that lets you quickly eject the hard drive and access other system components.

The M4600 will retail for a starting price of $1,678 while the M6600 will retail for $2,158. Both notebooks will be available worldwide on May 10th.
