Within just a few months, Samsung's Tizen OS has reached more than 500,000 users through the Z1.

Having just recently released the Z1 smartphone in India back in January, the adoption rate of Samsung's first major Tizen smartphone has been faster than the company expected.

In less than 5 months, Samsung has shifted more than 500,000 Z1 smartphones in India and Bangladesh. In fact, Samsung's Tizen OS has already penetrated 23.4 percent of the entire smartphone market in Bangladesh.

The success of the Z1 can be party attributed to the low retail price of just 80 Euros. The specifications include a 4-inch WVGA display, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 768 MB RAM, and a MicroSD slot. Additionally, the smartphone offers a 3 MP rear-facing camera and a VGA front-facing camera.

Samsung is reportedly set to announce the Z2 as the successor to the Z1 in the coming weeks. The smartphone will likely see a launch first in China, Russia, and Malaysia.
