Robo & Kala ultra-thin AMOLED-display 2-in-1 goes from crowdfunding to retail
Robo & Kala touted its eponymous tablet PC as the thinnest and lightest machine in its category on its launch via Kickstarter. That event has gone so well that the start-up is now able to sell the 2-in-1 via its own online shop. It also now sells accessories such as the device's magnetic keyboard and Smart Pen.
The Robo & Kala 2-in-1 set itself up as a Surface Pro rival with an AMOLED display via crowdfunding. It, like its Microsoft target, is compatible with its own stylus (with a 4096-level pressure sensitivity) and detachable keyboard.
However, it is also rated to weigh just 690g and be just 7.3mm high thanks to its Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 platform for "unparalleled portability". The Red Dot Design Award- (2023) winning PC started out on Kickstarter; however, for those who were less than certain about it at that stage, it is now available via robo-kala.com with its own "12-month guarantee" and "30-day no-risk free trial".
The PC is now available under those terms for US$1,099 in its (sort of) distinctive Sea Green colorway with its Keyboard and Smart Pen in the box. Those accessories are also listed on their first-party store, for US$99 and US$59 respectively at the time of writing.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
