Looking Glass Factory is launching its new Hololuminescent Display (HLD) technology globally, with the first 16-inch and 27-inch models set to ship in November/December 2025, and a gigantic 86-inch version scheduled for Q1 2026. The HLD is a new approach to spatial display hardware. It has a fixed holographic background etched into the display stack with a high-resolution 1080p or 4K screen, intended for showcasing people, products, and 3D characters in environments ranging from retail and events to experimental research labs.
The device’s primary innovation lies in its ability to create genuine depth and spatial presence using familiar 2D video workflows - such as background removal, advanced lighting, shadows, and reflections - without relying on glasses, eye-tracking cameras, or specialized viewing equipment. The display works equally well for single viewers or crowds, and supports resolutions up to 4K for larger models. As per the company, it can be used for holographic product showcases, advertising displays, and interactive experiences with real-time integration through Unity3D and Unreal Engine. Plus, the display’s form factor is razor-thin, with VESA mount and wall-mounting options standard; each unit ships with a Raspberry Pi 4 demo media player, HDMI cable, pre-loaded content, and an installation guide.
The HLD tech supports content creation from AI-generated video platforms (such as Kling, Veo, Runway), standard footage from devices like iPhones or DSLRs, or full digital renderings in tools like Blender or Cinema4D. For professional digital signage installations, compatibility is built-in with BrightSign and Scala CMS platforms; however, permanent installations must match the supported output resolutions (1080p for 16-inch, 4K for 27-inch and 86-inch) via HDMI or DisplayPort.
There are no integrated speakers, but a 3.5mm AUX output is present for external audio. Touchscreen functionality is not included in the standard models, but custom models and interactive overlays are available upon request for enterprise deployments. The HLD can be custom-fabricated in sizes from two inches to two hundred inches, subject to inquiry.
Shipping is available internationally, with U.S. buyers responsible for state sales taxes and non-U.S./Hong Kong buyers subject to local import duties and fees. Looking Glass Factory also offers a 30-day refund for all standard products in original condition.
