Panasonic Toughbook 33 now shipping with Intel 10th gen vPro processors to succeed the older Kaby Lake options
The new model is backwards compatible with older Toughbook 33 accessories. Its Bitlocker encryption and IP65 and MIL-STD certifications make it ideal for public sector, enterprise, and government environments.
Panasonic has just refreshed its Toughbook 33 to include Intel 10th gen Comet Lake-U vPro Core i5-10310U and Core i7-10810U options alongside additional internal upgrades. The rugged tablet was previously limited to much older Kaby Lake processors.
Not to be confused with the Toughbook CF-33, the Toughbook 33 is a 12-inch 3:2 QHD tablet designed for industrial or outdoor conditions. The tablet is packed with features including 4G LTE eSIM, OPAL SSD encryption, and even a fast NVMe SSD which is uncommon for a rugged device. Its display can be as bright as 1200 nits compared to less than half that on most consumer tablets including the iPad.
The updated Toughbook 33 is now available to ship. Accessories from the older Kaby Lake Toughbook 33 will be compatible with the newer Toughbook 33 since the tablet design remains unchanged.

After graduating with a B.S. in environmental hydrodynamics from the University of California, I studied reactor physics to become licensed by the U.S. NRC to operate nuclear reactors. There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
