Palit Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 6 GB listing pops up on Russian retail website
Palit, one of the board partners of Nvidia, has listed one of its RTX 3050 6 GB cards on a Russian retail website called Citilink. It’s reportedly one of the three models that Palit plans to offer for the card, and it’s from the StormX series. There will be another from the same series and one from the KalmX series.
Nonetheless, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 6 GB listing has confirmed that the GPU features a PCIe 4.0 x8 connector instead of a full-sized 16-lane interface. It has also given away a couple of internal specs of the card, but there appear to be some inconsistencies.
For example, the Palit Nvidia RTX 3050 6 GB listing says that it has a memory bandwidth of 224 GB/s, which should be 168 GB/s as it has a 96-bit bus instead of a 128-bit bus.
But some listed specs do appear right. Among them are the TDP and base clock. As per the listing shares, the base clock of the RTX 3050 6 GB is 1042 MHz, and it has a TDP of 115W.
To compare, the regular RTX 3050 8 GB variant (GIGABYTE model curr. $257.35 on Amazon) has a base clock of 1552 MHz and a TDP of 130W. This reduction to the TDP should make it possible to get a proper passive cooler on the graphics card. Well, apparently, Palit has a fanless model planned. It will be within the KalmX series.
But it’s worth noting that Palit hasn’t revisited its KalmX series design since its introduction. That is, the last entry had the same passive cooling setup as the first KalmX model, which was the GTX 1050 Ti KalmX. However, the previous KalmX cards had 75W TDP, which is much lower than the TDP listed for the RTX 3050 6 GB. So, Palit may finally change the passive cooler design.
