The Poco M7 Plus joins the Poco M7 series, bringing huge upgrades such as a massive 7,000mAh battery capacity and an improved build. There are also some downgrades, one of which is a missing audio jack.

Xiaomi-owned Poco has expanded its Poco M7 series with a new model called the Poco M7 Plus 5G. The new smartphone joins the Poco M7 Pro (read our review) released in December 2024 and the Poco M7 5G released in March 2025.

The Poco M7 Plus 5G arrives with a design that is different from that of its siblings. While it has a flat display with a centered punch hole for the front-facing camera, the quad-curved back is home to a dual camera setup housed in a protruding pill-shaped camera island.

Available in three colors including Aqua Blue, Carbon Black, and Chrome Silver which has red and blue trim lines running around the edges of the phone, the Poco M7 Plus has an IP64 dust and water resistance rating, an upgrade from the IP53 rating of the Poco M6 Plus.

The Poco M7 Plus is bigger than its predecessor as its display has increased from a 6.79-inch 120Hz LCD panel to a 6.9-inch FHD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, the M7 Plus has 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage that can be expanded via a MicroSD card slot.

Poco has swapped the 108MP f/1.8 primary rear camera on the Poco M6 Plus for a 50MP f/1.8 sensor and paired it with an unspecified secondary camera. Our guess is that it is a 2MP sensor like that of the Poco M7 Pro (curr. available on Amazon.de for €165). Nevertheless, there are some handy AI features such as AI eraser, AI sky replacement, and AI dynamic shot. The phone also has an 8MP selfie camera.

The Poco M7 Plus's biggest upgrade when compared to its predecessor is its battery capacity which has gone up from 5,030mAh on the M6 Plus to a whopping 7,000mAh. The Silicon Carbon battery still supports 33W fast charging, but can now reverse charge other devices at an impressive 18W. Poco says the battery has a 4-year durability and will still retain 80% of its capacity after 1600 cycles.

Poco ships the phone with Android 15 and has revealed that it will receive 2 generations of Android updates and 4 years of software and security updates. Other features are a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Dual SIM support, an IR blaster, and Wet Touch Technology 2.0 which allows users to operate the phone with wet hands. Unfortunately, Poco has chosen to remove the audio jack.

The Poco M7 Plus will be available to buy on Flipkart starting on August 19. Pricing starts at ₹13,999 (~$160/€137) for the base model and ₹14,999 (~$172/€146) for the 8GB RAM version.
