At this point, not much about the upcoming Nvidia Blackwell GPUs remains a mystery, with recent leaks providing a look at the specifications and official launch schedule of the new GeForce RTX 5000-series GPUs.
What we haven't heard all that much about in leaks and rumours, though, is price — until now, that is. According to leaked information obtained by YouTuber Vex from an Australian hardware vendor, the Nvidia RTX 5080 will launch with an MSRP of upwards of $1,500 (AUD2,799, to be exact). Compared to the launch price of the GeForce RTX 4080 that preceded it, the RTX 5080 will see a massive $300 price increase.
This suggests consumers can expect to pay upwards of $1,500 for the RTX 5080 when it launches, however there are some nuances to consider. For starters, none of the graphics cards shown in the pricing sheet sent to Vex by his source are first-party Nvidia designs, however, the listed purchase price and MSRP are the same ~$1,587 and ~$1,746 across the board. It's also unclear whether the international shipping and import fees were rolled into the listed prices, but even accounting for the 10% import duty results in a final MSRP of US$1,586.
Pricing in Australia doesn't seem to consistently represent Nvidia's global MSRPs. When the RTX 4080 launched, it launched at AUD2,219 (US$ 1,397.72 in today's US dollar), or nearly $200 more than the US launch MSRP. This suggests that the leaked pricing may not be at all representative of the final global or US MSRP.
Either way, it looks like we're in for at least a minor price increase when the RTX 5080 launches in January at CES 2025.
