Nvdia app 11.0.5 details officially revealed
Nvidia has quietly rolled out app version 11.0.5, and while it may look like a routine update, this one actually brings a handful of useful changes... especially for laptop users who rely on Nvidia’s G-Assist and DLSS tools.
Smarter G-Assist for laptops
As per the release notes, the standout addition in app 11.0.5 is G-Assist’s ability to handle notebook-specific controls. It can now adjust Battery Boost, Whisper Mode, and Optimal Playable Settings, giving users more control over how their laptop balances performance and battery life.
It’s a small change on paper but a meaningful one for anyone gaming on the go... especially as Nvidia continues blending its desktop and notebook software into one cleaner interface.
DLSS Override gains more ground
The update also extends DLSS Override support to 13 additional games, including Gears of War: Reloaded, Borderlands 4, METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER, and Lost Soul Aside.
That means players can now fine-tune DLSS behavior across more titles without waiting for individual patches or driver updates. Nvidia also added optimal settings support for Borderlands 4, Grounded 2, and Mafia: The Old Country—all of which will now show up in the app’s one-click optimization list.
Fixes worth noting
- Game stats now load correctly for titles with multiple executables.
- Optimization settings no longer reset after reboot.
- FPS counters finally report accurate values when Smooth Motion is enabled.
- The app no longer deletes multiple recordings when users remove clips too quickly.
- Nvidia also cleaned up some of the quirks around DLSS model presets and included “various stability fixes”.
Why 11.0.5 matters
Nvidia appears to be responding directly to the everyday frustration's gamers have voiced — from missing performance stats to inconsistent optimization tools. The latest G-Assist notebook features, in particular, signal a clear shift toward making the Nvidia app a unified control center for both desktop and laptop performance management.
