New Xiaomi POCO F5 prototype surfaces online
There have been several leaks about the POCO F5 series in recent weeks, with Xiaomiui spotting the POCO F5 on an IMEI database last month. Additionally, the FCC outlined specifications for the 23013PC75G with what appears to be a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. Now, the same regulatory body has certified the 23049PCD8G, the same model number that an IMEI database linked to the POCO F5.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the 23049PCD8G supports 5G, Bluetooth, NFC and dual-band Wi-Fi, as well as infrared. The FCC adds that Xiaomi has prepared 8 GB and 12 GB of RAM variants that will come with 128 GB or 256 GB of storage. Moreover, the 23049PCD8G will feature MIUI 14 based on Android 13, not Android 12 like the POCO X5 5G.
Currently, Xiaomi is expected to deliver the POCO F5 as a re-branded Redmi Note 12 Turbo or Redmi Note 12T. All devices will utilise the SM7475, the codename for the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1 or the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2, among other mid-range hardware. The Redmi Note 12 Turbo or Redmi Note 12T is expected to land later this month in China, with the POCO F5 tipped for release in April. Official launch information and pricing has not surfaced yet.
