New Xiaomi 16 series leak shows round corners and slim bezels of upcoming flagship phones

The Xiaomi 16 series is expected to bring the first flagship phones with the next-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. Past leaks have hinted that the lineup will have three smartphones, with the new addition being the Xiaomi 16 Pro mini or Pro Max. While the company has not disclosed anything about the devices, a new leak has offered a glimpse of what they might look like from the front.

As the leaked picture show, the Xiaomi 16 series phones could come with curvier corners than their predecessors. To be specific, the reliable leaker, Ice Universe, claims that this would be the "largest screen corner curvature in the history of mobile phones." The leaker adds that the smartphones will be rounder than the iPhone 17 Pro.

Such a redesign would mean that the Xiaomi 16 series phones will be a little more comfortable to hold than their predecessors. The leaked image also shows very slim bezels on all four sides, with Ice Universe adding that these are the narrowest bezels, which should lead to a more immersive viewing experience.

While these are some bold claims, Xiaomi has been emphasizing the display of its flagship phones for quite a while now. The Xiaomi 15 series (Xiaomi 15 12/256 GB curr. $624.72 on TradingShenzhen), for example, launched with flat screens that have very slim bezels, and it seems that the upcoming phones will make another noticeable jump.

Past reports have also suggested that the upcoming Xiaomi flagship phones will come with larger batteries, improved Leica-enhanced camera setups, and faster charging speeds than their predecessors. The launch is reportedly set for September 24, 2025.
