The Garmin eTrex touch GPS handheld navigator has been released in countries worldwide. Designed for hiking or cycling, it offers a larger touchscreen, allowing users to manipulate the map more easily. Features include support for multi-band GPS and multi-GNSS, and preloaded maps.

Garmin has released a new GPS handheld navigator: the eTrex Touch. This model joins a wide range of older versions of the device, such as the eTrex SE and the eTrex Solar. It could be used for hiking or fixed to your bike's handlebars with a mount accessory.

The new eTrex Touch has a larger 3-inch transflective color TFT display, with a 240 x 400 px resolution. It supports touch input, making it easy for users to move around or zoom into a map. The slim navigator comes with preloaded TopoActive maps showing trails, terrain contours, lakes and other features of the landscape. Users can also opt for an Outdoor Maps+ subscription to view more details, including satellite images and campground locations. Through the Garmin Explore app, you can plan your route in advance, and the gadget also offers real-time weather forecasts. This model supports multi-band GPS and multi-GNSS, with a digital compass and Geocaching Live updates.

This model has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, recharging via USB-C, allowing the navigator to run for up to 130 hours when using all satellite systems and multi-band, or up to 650 hours in expedition mode. It is marketed as offering 32GB memory, though Garmin notes this will differ based on the included mapping. With an IP67 dust and water resistance rating, the device measures 2.6 x 4.2 x 1.0 inches (~66 x 105 x 25 mm) and weighs 5.3 oz (~150 g). You can now buy the Garmin eTrex Touch for $449.99/£389.99/€449.99 at the brand's online store or at retailers like Amazon.
