More info on Xoom 2 Media Edition leaks

Teaser
A smaller, 8.2-inch "Media Edition" tablet from Motorola could be launching alongside the supposed 10.1-inch Xoom 2

We reported just yesterday on the supposed leak of the Xoom successor, complete with rumored features and specs. Now, more details have surfaced directly from Engadget.

According to the source, there may be two Xoom tablets in the works, one 10.1-inch model as seen yesterday and an 8.2-inch Media Edition model. The Media Edition model is the one Engadget supposedly has on hand, complete with pictures as proof. This small “e-reader replacement” is expected to run Android 3.2, have an IPS display, IR blaster and weigh less than one pound (0.454kg). A front-facing camera can be seen from the leaked snapshots as well. The tablet itself appears slimmer and wider than the larger 10.1-inch model and so will likely have a screen resolution different from its larger sibling.

Additional info on the Media Edition tablet, such as hardware specs, is still not yet known. There is a chance that the device will include the same rumored 1.2GHz CPU as the 10.1-inch model, if not a processor with similar speeds.

The sleeker Media Tablet was hinted at earlier last week when The Verge leaked a photo of the tablet, which now indeed looks very similar to the tablet Engadget is reporting on.

Expect more news and updates on the Motorola Xoom successor(s) as the supposed leaks continue to find their way onto bloggers’ hands. Until Motorola officially announces the two tablets, their respective launch dates will be anyone's guess.
