Despite already making its debut in the Oppo Reno 14 Pro back in May, MediaTek has just officially announced the Dimensity 8450 processor. The MediaTek 8450 is a slight upgrade when compared to the Dimensity 8400 which is usually the case for MediaTek processors whose last two digits are '50'.
Like the Dimensity 8400, the Dimensity 8450 has an 'All Big Core CPU' made up of 1x Cortex-A725 core (1MB L2 cache), 3x Cortex A-725 (512KB L2 cache), and 4x Cortex-A725 (256KB L2 cache). It also has an Arm Mali-G720 GPU with 7 cores and a 1.3GHz clockspeed and a MediaTek NPU 880 AI processing unit.
Accorin to MediaTek, the Dimensity 8450 has a new Dual EIS Engine that enhances 4K60 HDR video recording which results in more accurate camera stabilization. It also allows for editing and transcoding at up to 30% faster than competing mobile platforms.
There's also a new Live Broadcast Booster which improves the accuracy of face detection thus identifying the presenter's face within a shot and making them appear clearer with higher-quality AI enhancements. This also reduces power consumption by 7%.
Save for these specific details mentioned on the product page, the rest of the specs and features are the same as those of the Dimensity 8400 which powers the Poco X7 Pro (available on Amazon.de for €299.90).
