After a long silence, Pragmata – Capcom’s sci-fi adventure first announced in 2020 – has returned to the spotlight. The latest trailer, which racked up over 270,000 views in a single day, showcases new gameplay along with intense action and emotional story beats.

First announced in 2020 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, Pragmata is a sci-fi adventure from Capcom, the studio behind Resident Evil and Devil May Cry. Set in a dystopian future on the moon, the game follows the story of Diana – a mysterious artificial life form known as D-I-03367 – and her astronaut companion. Blending action and strategy, the astronaut relies on traditional firearms, while Diana uses her ability to manipulate digital systems, override security and disable enemies. At the core of the narrative is the evolving bond between the two – a relationship that explores the connection between humanity and artificial intelligence.

The last glimpse of Capcom’s Pragmata came in June 2023 with a trailer announcing a 2025 release. After months of silence, many had written the game off entirely. Now, however, Pragmata has made a surprise return with a new trailer shown during the latest State of Play, racking up over 270,000 views in just 24 hours.

The new Pragmata trailer opens with a staged commercial from the fictional Delphi Corporation, promoting a technological utopia on the moon. But the tone quickly shifts. An astronaut, stranded in a hostile environment, attempts to contact Earth as machines close in. At his side is Diana, who not only tends to his injuries but also fights alongside him. The trailer blends action with quiet, emotional moments between the two characters, offering a glimpse into their bond. Gameplay segments highlight the game’s mix of combat and narrative. The final reveal, though expected by many fans, is still disappointing: Pragmata has been delayed again – this time to an unspecified date in 2026.
