78.1% Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3 11IGL05 laptop review: Quiet, efficient, and slow convertible | Notebookcheck
A laptop without fans can be an amazing thing, especially for people who are sensitive to noise. But Lenovo makes too many compromises with the extremely affordable convertible IdeaPad Flex 3 11IGL05. In the end, it is simply too slow, even for its low price.

If you’re just using this device to pay bills, email people, and run some YouTube videos, I would say you can. It’ll be a little cramped, but you can. And if you can stomach that, the Flex 3 does deliver some great benefits in other areas, from the great keyboard and convenient ports to the outstanding battery life and respectable audio. In these categories, it rivals or surpasses our top Chromebook pick (the Spin 713). If you’re okay with its flaws, you’ll find that the Flex 3 offers quite a bit for its budget price.

Lenovo Ideapad Flex 3 (11) review – if possible, go for the SSD-equipped models
Source: Laptop Media English
Well, we think we have put that straight at the beginning of this review, but we’re going to say it again – this laptop is not meant to render complex 3D objects, nor to enable you to play any AAA title out there. Instead, you would want it for an unpretentious daily driver, which also works as a tablet.

Lenovo Chromebook Flex 3i review: A likeable but flawed Chromebook
Source: Talk Android English Archive.org version
However, the Flex 3i doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Lenovo has other Chromebooks in the family and the Flex 3i sits in a difficult place. It’s more expensive than the similar form-factor Chromebook Flex 3 models and is almost as expensive as the larger, more powerful Chromebook Flex 5. If you are looking to use the tablet mode more often, Lenovo offers the Chromebook Duet (currently at a discount), a 10-inch device with a detachable keyboard, MediaTek CPU, USI Pen support, and a sub-$300 price tag. There are also many other manufacturers offering broadly Chromebooks for less than the Chromebook Flex 3i.

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3 Chromebook 11IGL05

While 11.6-inch laptops are considered the smallest common laptop size today, this format is definitely becoming rarer since the notebook hype has subsided. However, the role of such laptops in the field of education with its ultra-low-price segment can never be denied. The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3 11lGL05 is the latest addition to the small-laptop family. One of the uniquenesses of this laptop has to be its design without a fan. While not having a fan is quite usual for devices with this kind of configuration, it is rare for laptops overall. However, this is absolutely great news for users who are sensitive to noise, giving them a premium user experience with a basic setup.

In terms of its case, the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3 11 is completely made of plastic, as expected in its price range. The back of the display and the area around the keyboard have a rather smooth plastic with a silvery brushed look, but the sides and bottom of the laptop are covered by slightly roughened matte grey plastic. It should also be noted that the base and display of the laptop cannot be twisted much. The display was never meant to handle too much strain, as any excessive pressure may cause it to get a bit dented.

As far as connectivity is concerned, this laptop has not been incorporated with a USB Type-C port. However, the two USB ports that are included within this model support the USB-3.0 standard, and there is also a microSD slot. In terms of its keyboard, it comes in a smaller size with some keys being significantly smaller. The pressure points are defined, and the keyboard does not give way while typing. While there is no digitizer pen included within this model, the 10-point touchscreen works flawlessly and provides a great alternative to the ClickPad situated right below the keyboard.

As for the display, the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3 11.6-inch model comes with two display choices: an HD panel with a 1366 x 768 resolution or a Full-HD screen. It is worth noting that both the panels are based on IPS technology and are glossy due to a glass panel in front of the screen. In terms of its internal components, the laptop has been equipped with an Intel Celeron N4020 along with Intel UHD Graphics 600. The Intel Celeron N4020 is a dual-core processor built on the Gemini Lake architecture. It has a typical maximum power consumption of six watts and clock rates in the range of 1.1 to 2.8 GHz. The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3 11 also has 64 GB of soldered eMMC memory. While this laptop is a great option for its low price, the choice of owning one is still subjective, depending on the user’s choice and preference.

Alongside the Celeron chip is 4GB of system memory and just 64GB of eMMC-style storage. All told, it’s a pretty unimpressive technical line up that represents a bottom-rung Intel-powered solution. Were this a Windows laptop or convertible, that would be enough to have us running for the hills. However, the Chrome OS environment is both less demanding and also cloud-centric. So, outright performance and local storage are not as critical. All of which means that the subjective experience is much better than you’d get in the Windows environment with the same hardware. The Lenovo Flex 3 feels pretty responsive, whether it’s streaming video or working in Google Docs. In tablet mode, the touchscreen functionality is fairly slick, with only occasional stuttering from the interface when swiping or scrolling. As for battery life, this is one seriously long lasting machine, notching up over 16 hours of video playback. Ultimately, it all comes back to that context.

Lenovo is clearly pushing the IdeaPad Flex 3i Chromebook for kids or those new to the PC market. The target audience like parents and first-time PC owners may not go beyond the certain budget they have set for studies. And it’s quite clear why Chromebooks are in high demand. I get that: the price does matter to end consumers. But if you are buying a notebook, make sure you take the final decision based on the need and requirement. For someone who needs a lightweight laptop for light work and wants to be in the Google ecosystem should get the IdeaPad Flex 3i Chromebook.

Source: Gadgets Now English
For most users who want their laptops to get the job done without too many hiccups, the Lenovo Chromebook Flex 3i is a solid option. It’s a convertible device and that gives you a 2-in-1 experience, which is not something you will get at this price point. ChromeOS is an easy to use platform and if you’re an Android user, the integration is simple and you can do a lot more on this laptop. At Rs 28,990, it’s not too difficult to recommend this laptop. We ended up like a lot of things that most users look out for — battery life, lag-free performance and a nice-looking design. If you are in the market for a laptop that is around Rs 30,000, then the Lenovo Chromebook Flex 3i is worth a dekko.

The Lenovo Flex 3 has main strengths in above-average build quality, good styling, and pocket-friendly price. With a robust range of ports, it should appeal to people looking to supplement their Chromebook’s internal flash storage and maybe connect to an external display via HDMI and USB-C, or a keyboard and mouse. And, with a 360-degree hinge, this Chromebook is versatile without adding some extra bulk. Perhaps the only main drawback in the Flex 3 is its cramped, dim, low-resolution display, which keeps it from getting an excellent rating. If you decide to overlook this – maybe you plan to keep the Flex 3 connected to an external monitor most of the time – it’s a worth investment. Otherwise, you’ll have to increase your budget to reach 2-in-1 Chromebooks like the Acer Chromebook Spin 713 or the Google Pixelbook Go. Just in case your budget can’t grow, and you can do with the 720p screen, the Lenovo Chromebook Flex 3 (82HG0006US) is terrific value for a 2-in-1 Chromebook.

60% Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3 Chromebook Review: Not flexible enough
Source: The Times of India English
Considering the performance of the Chromebook I can say that it definitely suits the needs of the students but for working professionals, it is not the best choice. It is good for browsing the internet, videos, emails, among others but not for severe media editing or gaming. At the price range it is being offered, I also feel that you can get a basic Windows laptop that could offer a somewhat experience. You can also keep an eye on Android tablets, which offer similar functionality. The Moto Tab G70 is a good option in this price range. Also, don't forget the Apple iPad. However, if you want a convertible 2-in-1 notebook with laptop-like form factor, that too with touchscreen at this price, you can surely check this out.

While Chromebooks might not offer the same level of flexibility as laptops running Windows or Mac OS, especially in terms of software and apps, they’re definitely capable of handling tasks like web browsing, video calling, writing, document editing etc. And for a large majority of users, these comprise a huge chunk of their day-to-day usage. The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3i handles these well, topping it off with decent battery life, a solid build, a touchscreen and convertible form factor. It’s suitable not just for students, but can handle WFH requirements as well, provided you’re well entrenched in Google’s ecosystem. For its asking price of Rs 30k, it can make for a decent, affordable option to consider.

Alright, should you spend Rs 28,990 on the Lenovo Flex 3i Chromebook? In my opinion, if you have a tight budget of Rs. 30,000 and are fine with Chrome OS for your daily work, including browsing the Internet, binge-watching shows, attending online meetings/classes; then, the Flex 3i is an easy recommendation. It does a lot of things right, such as excellent battery life, a good keyboard and trackpad, and good performance on light tasks. However, it’s imperfect and has flaws, such as an average display and mediocre speaker quality. Still, you really can not complain about an entry-level Chromebook. However, you can also save a few bucks and get the Asus Chromebook Flip C214, which offers similar specs, but at the cost of a weaker chipset. Then there is the HP Chromebook 11A, but its biggest drawback is the lack of touch support.

At the end of the day, if a Chromebook gets the job done well, is a little bit fun to use, and doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall apart while doing it, you have an absolute winner at a $349 price point. And I’d imagine as time goes on, we’ll even see deals on this Chromebook that will take it down under $300, and that is just crazy. Lenovo has absolutely nailed it with the Flex 3i, and this device has me wildly excited to see what other manufacturers build and release around this very capable small-core processor family from Intel.

The Lenovo Flex 3 Chromebook presents itself as a budget-friendly 2-in-1, and it fulfills that promise with a carry-friendly convertible design and impressive port selection. While its plastic construction and raw performance are no match for more expensive laptops, it's still a satisfying portable companion for casual users at a price that's hard to beat. If you're looking for something with more power for demanding applications or games, you're probably not after a Chromebook to begin with. We've tested faster and more powerful ChromeOS laptops galore, but in an environment defined by online tools and Android apps, relatively modest performance isn't a deal-breaker. We wish the Flex 3 had a couple of hours more battery life, but it's nevertheless a compelling budget option.

This $350 Lenovo Chromebook will change your mind about cheap laptops
Source: Zdnet.com English
The portability of the Flex 3i is the cherry on top. Compared to the 16-inch MacBook Pro that I usually lug around, the Lenovo weighs less than three pounds and it's as backpack-friendly as laptops come. For $349, I challenge you to find a laptop with more functionality and benefits than the Lenovo Flex 3i Chromebook. I'm not saying this is the best laptop on the market, but it would've easily been at the top of my buying list if I was still in college, and that's coming from someone who's had all the experiences with buying $300 laptops.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.

In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.

In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.

Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.
