Leaked Huawei FreeBuds Studio details confirm the design of October 22-bound and €400 headphones
The Huawei FreeBuds Studio has leaked, courtesy of Roland Quandt and WinFuture. According to Quandt, Huawei will launch the FreeBuds Studio in two colours called Blush Gold and Graphite Black, which you can view below. While the FreeBuds Studio has a similar name to the rumoured AirPods Studio, the former will go up against the likes of Bose, Sennheiser and Sony as Apple apparently does not plan to release its over-ear headphones for a few months.
Quandt claims that Huawei will pitch the FreeBuds Studio at around €400, probably to price-match headphones like the Sony WH-1000XM4. The FreeBuds Studio will have 40 mm dynamic drivers powered by a Huawei Kirin A1 processor and two 410 mAh batteries. Apparently, this battery capacity will yield up to 20 hours of music playback and 15 hours of phone calls. Quandt stresses that these battery life estimates may be with active noise cancellation (ANC) disabled, though. The FreeBuds Studio also has a button for cycling ANC, which will supposedly reduce ambient noise by up to 40 dB.
The FreeBuds Studio will charge via USB Type-C too and may take up to 70 minutes for a full recharge. 10 minutes of charge time will translate to five hours of battery life though, Quandt claims. Additionally, the headphones will support Bluetooth 5.2 and will weigh 256 g. Huawei will launch the FreeBuds Studio on October 22, so it seems that the company will beat Apple to releasing a pair of 'Studio' branded over-ear headphones.
