Not long after the LG V20 launched as the first new handset to come with Android Nougat on board, LG launches the first Android 7.0 firmware update for one of its tablets, namely the G Pad X 8.0 V521.
This week, T-Mobile apparently becomes the first US carrier to provide the Android Nougat firmware update to an LG tablet. The tablet in question is the LG G Pad X 8.0 V521, a slate that was released back in June when it arrived loaded with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
The update is dated January 2 and carries the build number V52120f. One user confirmed that the update is available via LG Bridge, while LG and T-Mobile mentioned that Android 7.0 Nougat would hit these slates via FOTA "in a few days." The previous update was released on October 24 and carries the build number V52110e.
Since this is the first Nougat update for the LG G Pad X 8.0, the slate should get all the new features everyone should be familiar with already - multi-window mode, improved Doze mode, a lot of new emojis, direct replies to notifications, enhanced VR support, as well as the usual tweaks, fixes, and security patches.

In my early school days, I hated writing and having to make up stories. A decade later, I started to enjoy it. Since then, I published a few offline articles and then I moved to the online space, where I contributed to major websites that are still present online as of 2021 such as Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000, but I also wrote for multiple blogs that have disappeared over the years. I've been riding with the Notebookcheck crew since 2013 and I am not planning to leave it anytime soon. In love with good mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sound, but also smartphones, streaming services, and digital art.
