Huawei unveils three MateBook B business laptops

Huawei has unleashed the MateBook B series, which it is positioning for business consumers. The MateBook B5-420, MateBook B3-510 and MateBook B3-410 come with Intel Comet Lake-U processors and up to 512 GB of storage.

Huawei has released three laptops targeted at business consumers. All marketed under its new MateBook B series, the devices are less flashy than the MateBook X and MateBook 13/14 2020 laptops that the company also unveiled today. The MateBook B series all have Comet Lake-U series processors and high screen-to-body ratio displays.

The B5-420 is the most premium of the MateBook B series and is the only machine of the three to be offered with an NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPU. 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM is on board, as is 512 GB of storage. Huawei has equipped the machine with the older LPDDR3 type of RAM for some reason, though. A 56 Wh battery underpins the B5-420, which also has a 14-inch 2K IPS display that peaks at 300 nits.

Huawei has called the other two devices in the MateBook B series the B3-410 and B3-510. The former has a 14-inch screen, while Huawei has equipped the latter with a 15.6-inch panel. Both are 1080p machines though and can only reach 250 nits. The B3-510 has the same 56 Wh battery as the B5-420, but the B3-410 must make do with a 42 Wh battery, instead.

Additionally, the B3-410 and B3-510 are only available with 8 GB of RAM. Again, this conforms to the older LPDDR3 standard. Moreover, the B3-510 is confined to 256 GB of storage, whereas the B3-410 cam be configured with a 512 GB drive. The pricing for the three machines can be found below. Huawei is yet to state whether it plans to release the MateBook B series internationally, but it can be viewed on its VMall eCommerce platform.
