Geekom recently launched a new mini PC, the AX8 Pro, a compact device that has lots of ports and a fast computing chip. Fast network connectivity is provided by an Ethernet port or quick WiFi.
Geekom recently launched a new mini PC, the Geekom AX8 Pro, which can be purchased at Amazon for a starting price of $749. For an additional $100, buyers can upgrade from the already-powerful R7-8845HS to the more powerful R7-8845HS.
As stated above, the PC is equipped with a powerful AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS APU processor. As there is no room for a dedicated GPU in the compact housing, the integrated Radeon 780M handles graphics processing and should be sufficient for not entirely undemanding video games; according to our benchmarks, titles such as Lies of P, Cyberpunk 2077 2.1 and F1 24 can be played smoothly in Full HD.
The model offered on Amazon has a 2TB SSD installed, which is quite a decent capacity. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed as the operating system. The DDR5 RAM is 32 GB in size, which means that there should be no limitations in this regard, even when running multiple demanding applications at once.
Connection to a network is possible via Ethernet with 2.5 GBit/s. WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 are available. USB 4 is on board and there are two HDMI 2.0 ports. There are also several USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and a jack plug. Power is supplied via a classic round plug.
Numerous modern ports are available. (Image source: Geekom)

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

Growing up in regional Australia, I first became acquainted with computers in my early teens after a broken leg from a football (soccer) match temporarily condemned me to a predominately indoor lifestyle. Soon afterwards I was building my own systems. Now I live in Germany, having moved here in 2014, where I study philosophy and anthropology. I am particularly fascinated by how computer technology has fundamentally and dramatically reshaped human culture, and how it continues to do so.
