Fuiigo 1.1 wearable speaker campaign launches on Makuake

Fuiigo LLC has launched a Makuake campaign in Japan for its second-generation wearable speaker, the Fuiigo 1.1. It improves upon the fit, comfort, and sound reproduction versus the original model.

The proximity of the speakers helps keep sound levels at moderate levels, reducing the chance of disturbing neighbors. This allows users living in small apartments to experience immersive sound while watching movies and media without needing to turn up the sound on a home theater system.

The wearable is able to reproduce deep bass from 20 Hz to 300 Hz, claims the company, thanks to its patented rocking mechanism located in tubes along the left and right sides of the body, enabling wearers to feel deep vibrations across their bodies rather than just their heads. Two speakers located along the left and right collarbone reproduce the mid and upper frequencies. Together, the four speaker units envelop users in a more realistic sound experience than that from headphones, according to the company.

The Fuiigo 1.1 weighs 1.07 kg (2.4 lbs.) and comes with a 3 m (9.8 ft.) cable to connect to the included Fosi Audio BT30D 2.1 CH Bluetooth amplifier (also sold here on Amazon US). The amp can be connected to wired and wireless audio sources to drive the two 10-watt bass modules and two 3-watt speakers in the wearable speaker.

Readers who already own the original Fuiigo with its external amp can acquire the Fuiigo 1.1 wearable speaker by itself for as low as 37,810 yen (~$260) in white or brown. Those who do not own the original model can pre-order the Fuiigo 1.1 system for as low as 49,800 yen (~$340).
