Eurocom describes the Panther 2 as "the ultimate mobile workstation" and cetainly does well to live up to this claim given its blistering performance matched by an eye watering price tag. However, despite its mobile form factor, it's not really that portable, so it does beg the question: what's the point when a desktop alternative is cheaper? If it lives in a back of a truck performing 'special ops' then it kind of makes sense, but for the travelling techie, just be sure you sign up with a gym before taking a stroll with this Panther.

A stunning workstation-class notebook and capable of handling most intensive computing tasks that need to be executed locally, which excludes massive HPC applications needing to be executed on clustered HPC hardware. The price could be prohibitive for some companies, but if you have the cash, chances are you won't be disappointed.

When we tested the Malibal Nine X7200 built on the same platform (Holiday 2010), we gave it a Kick Ass award. The Panther 2.0 has even more impressive specs, easily earning the award. Its size, weight, and limited battery life make it appropriate for only a small subset of users, but its performance and flexibility define a new class of mobile gaming systems.

Looking first at the build quality and design of the EUROCOM Panther 3.0 we have a system which is very impressive. Clearly using the highest specification components requires a large chassis but it looks decent with the minimalist lighting adding to a nice brushed metal finish. The unit is packed with quality branded components from Samsung memory through Intel SSDs to the i7 CPU and AMD/NVIDIA graphics.
