This new portable features NVIDIA Maxwell graphics, Intel Haswell processors and TPM 1.2 technology from Infineon, all in a highly customizable configuration.

Eurocom has just announced the release of its new "thin, light and ultraportable" 15.6-inch Electra 2 notebook, a machine which features NVIDIA's latest graphics adapters based on the Maxwell architecture, a rich selection of Intel Haswell processors and TPM 1.2 hardware data encryption from Infineon Technologies.

As it happens with all Eurocom's machines, the Electra 2 can be customized as the customer wishes. Below you can see the basic config which is priced at $825 USD:

  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4200M
  • Memory/Storage: 8 GB DDR3 RAM; a single 500 GB Hitachi Z7K500 Travelstar hard drive
  • Display: 15.6-inch non-glare backlit LED with 1,920X1,080 pixels
  • Graphics adapter: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M with 2 GB GDDR3 featuring NVIDIA Battery Boost and GPU Boost 2.0 
  • Optical drive: 8X Multi DVD Burner
  • Camera: 2 MP webcam
  • Connectivity: WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, USB 2.0, 2XUSB 3.0, RJ45 and Gigabit LAN, HDMI 1.4a out
  • Weight/Dimensions: 5.48 pounds; 14.96X10.2X0.56-1.07 inches
  • Battery/Autonomy: 6-cell Lithium-Ion 62.16 WH; up to 300 minutes

The top options available include the Intel Core i7-4940MX Extreme Edition processor ($670 USD more), up to 3.5 TB of storage, or a 6X Blu-Ray writer, available for $110 USD. Embedded TPM 1.2 hardware encryption can also be added on request. For more details, please check the press release below.
