Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller test summary: Innovative wiping function

With the Aqua10 Ultra Roller, Dreame is using the mop roller for the first time - and does it well right from the start. The wiping performance is better than with the rotating mops and the closing cover for carpet cleaning really makes sense.

In the test, the Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller did not excel in every aspect and also had a few weaknesses. However, some of these could still be improved via a software update. Overall, the robot vacuum cleaner delivers an all-round good, if not quite perfect, performance and is a thorough cleaning aid, even for households with pets.

Pros

+ thorough cleaning performance
+ protects carpets from wet mopping roller
+ solid navigation and obstacle detection

Cons

- short battery life
- quite high power consumption

Price and availability

The recommended retail price for the Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller is $1,499. For the launch, the manufacturer is offering it with a $320 euro discount.

With Aqua10 Ultra Roller and Aqua10 Ultra Track, Dreame launched a new vacuum robot series with a particular focus on mopping technology at the beginning of September 2025.

Dreame is using a mopping roller for the first time. This generally achieves even better results with wet floor cleaning than the two rotating mops previously preferred by Dreame. In this Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller review, we take a look at whether this also applies here.

Equipment: For the first time with lockable wiping roller

First of all, a few words about the general features of this exciting vacuum and mopping robot. It is not only the rotating roller (called AquaRoll) that makes it interesting, but also the fact that the roller can also be "locked away" by a cover (AutoSeal Roller Guard) during carpet cleaning to protect the carpet fibers.

During wet cleaning, the roller is continuously cleaned with fresh water from a small tank (100 ml) in the robot and dirty water is removed via a further tank (140 ml). In contrast to the Narwhal Flow (899 euros on Amazon), cold water is used

Another new feature is that the mopping roller is now even washed with 100°C hot water in the station. In addition, it now has two containers for detergent, which can be used for both floor and mop cleaning. This allows different detergents to be used. In addition, the appliance now also dries the dust bag if moisture gets into it. The cleaning station is rounded off by the usual functions such as suction and mop drying.

Visually, the station has a new design. The now more boxy shape is actually quite appealing. However, the cover in the upper area looks more valuable in product photos than the plastic can hold in reality.

Dreame's Aqua10 Ultra Roller also incorporates many of the technologies (some of which have been further developed) from the previous flagship vacuum robots in the X series. The new model not only vacuums at up to 30,000 Pa, but can now also overcome thresholds up to 8 cm high with the updated Pro-Leap system. However, this value can only be achieved in two stages. With one step, it is still 4.2 cm.

Also on board are the FluffRoll Tech, which is designed to keep the roll fluffy at all times, and the HyperStream Detangling DuoBrush to prevent hair from getting wrapped up. And thanks to VersaLift, the laser tower can be retracted to shrink the robot to a solid but not overbearing 9.75 cm high for cleaning under furniture. The 360-degree LiDAR navigation is supported by two high-resolution 3D cameras with a 160-degree wide angle (OmniSight System 2.0) for obstacle avoidance.

Setup and app: Numerous settings for carpets and co

As we already know from other Dreame robots, the initial setup of the Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller was no problem in the test. Simply scan the QR code under the cover with the Dreame app and follow the instructions.

Once the connection has been established, the usual orientation follows, during which the robot vacuum creates a virtual map of the surroundings. Not only did we notice positively that the Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller makes very quiet driving noises, but also that the virtual map has already been created with great detail and accuracy. A few manual adjustments, e.g. setting up exclusion zones and changing one or two names, and the first floor cleaning can begin.

In addition to the "CleanGenius" AI mode, four cleaning modes are available for the entire area, individual rooms or selected zones: vacuuming, mopping, vacuuming and mopping as well as mopping after vacuuming. The settings for both mopping and vacuuming can be adjusted in several stages in terms of suction power, moisture and mop pressure. There are also several options for the route and frequency of cleaning the mopping unit at the station. Individual settings can also be made for each room ("Customize room cleaning").

The Dreame app also offers many options for customizing the map and the basic settings. Many options can be set individually, especially for carpets. There are also other functions such as the obligatory cleaning schedule, an overview of completed cleaning processes and, if desired, live video. The Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller is also compatible with Matter.

Navigation and obstacle detection: not quite at the top level

Navigation through our test environment works satisfactorily, although not always at the highest level. Sometimes it seemed a little disorganized and also took much longer than many of its competitors. Ultimately, however, the most important thing is that it reliably cleaned the entire area (or the accessible areas).

A practical feature is that the laser tower retracts when required. This means that the robot hoover is only 98 mm high instead of 120 mm, allowing it to clean under more furniture. With the less than 8 cm thin Saros models from Roborock the Aqua10 Ultra Roller cannot keep up. However, this is not to be expected from a model with a mopping roller. At just under 10 cm, it is on a par with the Ecovacs Deebot X11 ($1.499.99 at Amazon), which uses the same mopping technology.

Thanks to its climbing function, in which, according to the manufacturer, it can overcome obstacles up to 4.2 cm high in one step and up to 8 cm high in two steps with its additional arms, the Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller Complete is also well suited for old buildings. Overcoming obstacles did not always work 100 percent reliably in the test, but the procedure is definitely gentler than some other competitors, which are also not at this height. Whether this is advisable in the long term, especially for wooden thresholds and the like, remains to be seen...

The Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller's obstacle detection worked ok in the test, but unfortunately not at a top level. It was not at all interested in a single shoelace, which is the final boss for all robot hoovers. The same applies to a single 4x2 clamping block. It did, however, recognize it at double height. It also avoided a cable lying on the floor, but shifted it slightly.

Cleaning performance: Wipes particularly thoroughly

With its 30,000 Pa suction power, the Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller is beyond reproach on smooth floors. Thanks to its extendable and liftable corner brush, it achieves an almost perfect result and reliably collects the vast majority of loose dirt.

The cleaning performance is also good on carpets, even if it decreases with the length of the carpet pile in the usual manner. A practical feature is that the robot vacuum can lift itself up on long-pile carpets to prevent tangling and getting stuck. However, this function must be activated in the settings. The anti-hair winding worked well for the most part in the test. Only a few hairs were occasionally found on the FluffRoll.

However, the focus of this robot vacuum is clearly on the mopping function. For the first time, Dreame is using a mopping roller. This was actually overdue, especially as the manufacturer has been using this technology in its in its vacuum cleaners for years. The 26 cm wide roller is not only constantly rinsed with fresh water and freed from dirty water, but is also "fluffed up" by the FluffRoll technology so that the roller does not become solid over time.

As we already know from other vacuum cleaning robots with roller, the mopping performance is clearly superior to rotating mops. In the test, the Aqua10 Ultra Roller from Dreame mopped up almost all of the dirt that was distributed. Only a dried ketchup stain left minimal residue on the floor. The AI detection of a liquid stain also worked, so the robot stopped vacuuming and raised the brushes.

AutoSeal Roller Guard covers the AquaRoll wiping roller when cleaning carpets

A special feature of the Aqua10 Ultra Roller is that its mop roller can be "locked away" for carpet cleaning. The AutoSeal Roller Guard is a curved shield that moves over the roller when required. This prevents the robot from wetting and staining the carpet during a "vacuum and mop" cleaning process.

This mostly worked well in the test, but was not 100 percent reliable. Occasionally, the robot did not extend the cover, even though it was working on carpet and had obviously noticed this with the increased suction power. Nevertheless, it is a practical function.

The extendable wiping roller leaves some safety distance

As with other robotic vacuum cleaners with a mopping roller, Dreame also extends the roller out to the side of the appliance to mop almost without leaving any gaps. However, the Aqua10 Ultra Roller still leaves some distance to furniture etc. This ensures a narrow, unmopped strip, but also more safety. Other robot hoovers such as the Narwhal Flow occasionally scraped along skirting boards and the like, which we did not notice here in the test.

After work comes the all-round care package in the station. Among other things, the mopping unit is cleaned with hot water at 100°C and then dried. In the test, this always ensured a clean mopping roller. It would be practical if you could choose in the app which of the two detergent tanks should be used for mopping. Then you could also use different agents for different rooms, not just an additional one against pet odors.

Battery life and power consumption: runs out of breath quite quickly

A negative aspect of the Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller Complete test is the high battery consumption - especially with the fresh impressions from the test of the Ecovacs Deebot X11 OmniCyclone.

The Aqua10 Ultra Roller Complete from Dreame cannot keep up here. After our usual cleaning process of 50 square meters vacuumed and mopped with the standard cleaning settings, the battery only shows around 45 percent. This means that for larger apartments or floors of around 70 to 80 square meters or more, it will be difficult to clean them with one battery charge. This is a poor result, especially as it takes around 4 hours to charge the 6,400 mAh battery.

If we extrapolate the measurement results of a 50 m² cleaning cycle including subsequent vacuuming, cleaning and recharging in the station to 30 days, this results in an energy consumption of a good 15 kWh per month. Here, too, the Deebot X11 OmniCyclone was significantly more economical.
