If you really want a full-sized tablet for less than the price of an iPad, consider splashing out a little extra on the Google Nexus 10. Otherwise, go for one of the above compact alternatives. In either case, you'll be getting a lot more tablet for your money.

10.1": The netbook/subnotebook has a quite small display format. Nonetheless, it is a common format for netbooks. The advantage is, that the subnotebook/netbook can be small dimensioned and can be carried easily. Further the small display has the advantage, that it needs few energy, which improves the battery runtime and in consequence the mobility. 0.7 kg: This subnotebook is one of the most lightweight of all notebooks and can be carried very easily. There exist hardly any models in this extreme class of weight. 7-9 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.


Archos: Archos is a French consumer electronics company that was established in 1988. The company manufactures portable media players and portable storage devices. Archos has developed a variety of products, including digital audio players, PVPs (portable video players), digital video recorders, and a personal digital assistant. The first laptop reviews appeared in 2008/2009. The global market share of Archos laptops is quite limited.
