Singer and actress Barbra Streisand was annoyed of Siri pronouncing her name wrong. So she just called Apple and asked them to change it. In this call, she obviously got the date for the next system updates.
Wenn Tim Cook gets a call, most of the time it will be about something dull like business figures or board meetings. But when iconic actress Barbra Streisand calls Apple's CEO, things are getting interesting. In a radio interview with NPR Music, the diva tells us what happened: She was annoyed that digital personal assistant Siri on her iPhone pronounces her name with a soft "s" like in "sand", which is wrong. So she had the bespoke talk with Tim Cook:
"He delightfully agreed to have Siri change the pronounciation of my name with the next update on September 30th"
The funny thing is: We didn't know there would be an update by the end of September. This next update might bring Siri to Apple Macs and MacBoks hopefully with Barbra Streisand's name pronounced correctly. The diva doesn't seem to be too sure about it:
