The Anbernic RG477M is an Android gaming handheld that was released in August. Anbernic has now begun to roll out a new software update that enhances the performance of the handheld. The new software update brings the software version of the RG477M to version 1.30, and arrives as an OTA so users can directly upgrade their device rather than manually sideloading it.
According to the changelog, the update brings the ability for users to adjust the fan settings when the device is in high-performance mode. Users will be able to switch between “Auto”, “Cool”, and “Strong” for the fan speed once high-performance mode is activated.
Another new feature that the update brings is support for motion controllers (called sensor rotation switch). Once the device is updated, owners of the Anbernic RG477M (curr. available on Amazon for $299.99) will be able to add a “Sensor Rotation” tile to the Quick Settings menu.
To do this, pull down the Quick Settings menu and tap on the pen in the corner. Long press on the Sensor Rotation tile and drag it to any position you want in the Quick Settings menu. Exit the edit screen and tap on the tile to turn on the feature. Once enabled, users will be able to use motion control in games that support it.
The changelog also states that the update brings several fixes to the device, optimizes the software experience, and improves app compatibility.
To update your device, launch the FOTA update app, and tap on “Check version”. Download the available update and wait for the download to complete. Tap on the circle to apply the update and restart the device once its done.
