Samsung to push Android to corporate, plans to partner SAP

It is recently been updated that SAP AG (SAP) and Samsung Electronics are teaming up to make mobile devices running on Android OS, which will be used as a corporate tool as reported by some individuals familiar with this matter. It has also been leaked that SAP and Samsung will be presenting their plans next week at the Mobile World Congress to be held in Barcelona. 

They are expected to include email encryption as well as making handsets compatible with device management systems along with phone functions such as switching the camera on and off. If this deal is true then it is the first of its kind for SAP teaming with a maker of Android phones and follow agreements with Research in Motions for BlackBerry platform and Apple for iPhone and iPad devices. 

Ulrich Trabert, a software analyst at Bankhaus Metzler in Frankfurt, has commented that SAP is looking forward for a partner who is dominant on the Android platform as they need more pre-configured tablets and Smartphones which comply with their advanced security systems.

Samsung spokesman has confirmed that the two companies will be making some joint announcement but has declined to give any further details however the SAP spokesman has refused to comment anything regarding this issue. 

SAP has added technology to bring its software to Smartphones and tablets, as they have acquired Sybase in 2010. Now if this partnership is announced at the MWC, then soon we will be able to see Tablets that will be specifically designed for supporting enterprise-management software.
