A fresh leak of the Xiaomi Mix 2s reveals a stunning design that almost eliminates front bezels on the device. The device is a further evolution of the Mix 2, which was only launched as recently as October. That design took its cue from the original Phillipe Starck-designed Xiaomi Mix, which was the first to start the recent trend towards all-screen smartphones.
As can be seen from the pictures, the only evidence of a front-facing bezel is tucked away to the top right-hand side of the device where the company has found a tiny notch for its front-facing camera. For all intents and purpose, it could be argued that the Chinese maker is the first to eliminate front-facing bezels. The rest of the design is wraps a four-sided ceramic body around its 5.99-inch display.
The Xiaomi Mix 2s is also something of a spec beast. It will be among the first to sport a Snapdragon 845 and will be mated to 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM while storage will be a decent 256 GB of high-speed UFS. It will have a dual 12MP camera on the rear with optical zoom and integrate 4G global LTE bands. In opting to forgo 3D facial scanning, it will integrate an under-display fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.
The Mix 2s is expected to officially see the light of day at MWC starting February 26.
