Windows 10 USB drives now up for pre-order
Microsoft will unleash Windows 10 on July 29 as previously announced, but it looks like those who need it on a USB flash drive and not just as a system update from Windows 7/8.1 will have to wait a bit longer. Fortunately, both Windows 10 Home and Pro can be already pre-ordered from Amazon, although it appears that first shipments will not happen before the end of next month.
Earlier today, Neowin mentioned that both product pages mentioned August 16 as the release date of these products. In the meantime, the date has been changed to August 30. The prices are both as expected - $119.99 USD for Home and $199.99 USD for Pro.
Compared to the release of the update/digital download variants, this one-month delay may be caused by a lag in the production cycle of the drives, but Microsoft did not mention anything about this yet. As soon as Amazon changes the release date on the product pages, or at least Microsoft says something about it, we will get back to this topic as well, so stay tuned.
