The Vivo V17 is powerful, packed with Snapdragon 675 AIE processor, good RAM/ROM and 4500 mAh battery. The punch hold is small and placed on the right side that also houses the 32 MP camera. The placement is really good as it does not disturb in any sense. Camera performance is also impressive. Overall a very good package.

Barely half a year after the launch of their V15 Pro, and Vivo has launched the next model in their V series – the V17 Pro. Like the V15 Pro, this will again be powered by the Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Sadly, however, there will be no support for storage expansion via microSD. That said, the phone does support dual Nano SIMs.

Just like many other vivo and Oppo phones, the maker is charging somewhat of a premium for the V17 Pro. And brand loyalty aside, we can't recommend the V17 Pro over competing phones because they are cheaper while offering even higher specs. But once the price goes down, the V17 Pro will be a phone to look forward to.

As a camera phone, the Vivo V17 Pro packs in some good hardware, but the software still needs a bit of polish. Accessing certain basic functions can be a multi-step process, when it shouldn't be. If you love taking selfies, the dual front cameras offer plenty of creative freedom, especially with features such as the posing guides. Low-light video is one area which needs a lot of work, as apart from the below-average image quality, the drop in framerate is quite jarring.

Even though it’s well priced and has six versatile cameras, the Vivo V17 Pro is very much geared towards the Chinese market. Its software is a high learning curve for western tastes and tries far too hard to be like iOS, making the phone feel less flexible than Android should. Its six versatile cameras are its saving grace, even if they are not class-leading.

Apart from the heating issue while playing PUBG Mobile and slow transition speeds, the Vivo V17 Pro doesn’t give room for criticism. The phone has a nice build, good display, decent battery backup, and brilliant cameras. The biggest drawback of the phone is its price.

However, unless you really need that second selfie sensor or you really don’t like its admittedly quite garish design, the Redmi K20 Pro has the V17 Pro beat in every single department and still leaves you with some extra cash in your pocket. Unfortunately, Vivo has dropped the ball at a time when mid-range phones are better than they’ve ever been. Here’s hoping the next V-series isn’t just a one-trick camera phone.

The Vivo V17 Pro comes with a bigger battery, an improved design, a new pop-up module, and a Type-C port. However, it still retains the same screen, chipset, and software experience as the V15 Pro. Most mid-range smartphones these days have the Snapdragon 700 series as their chipset, while the V17 Pro is stuck with a Snapdragon 675. If you own a V15 Pro, there’s not much reason to upgrade to the V17 Pro aside from the cameras.

While all eyes are on the NEX 3 flagship, another vivo smartphone is about to enter the limelight. The V17 Pro is the latest mid-range phone from the Chinese company, and much like other mid-range phones release recently, it has four cameras in the rear. It’s the most premium phone to come from their V-series lineup and is the company’s new weapon in the escalating mid-range wars.

This device is priced at Rs.29,990 which is overpriced considering the specs it offers. If you are a gamer ignore this smartphone as there are many smartphones available in the market which offer better performance. However, Vivo V17 Pro is a camera focused smartphone and if you are a person who loves clicking a lot of pictures then this smartphone is made for you. The camera on this device steals our heart and the shots we got were amazing. It won’t be wrong to say that the Vivo V17 Pro brings the best camera setup under the price range of Rs.30,000.

The Vivo V17 Pro has a lot going for it: good design and display, impressive cameras and long-lasting battery life. However, despite having the bells and whistles in the camera, the Vivo V17 Pro will be a hard sell for the company. Why? Because it packs in an older processor which manages to deliver but when you compare the OnePlus 7 that is available at Rs 3,000 more or the Redmi K20 Pro, it’s not up to the mark. If and only if camera is the criteria of buying a smartphone, then go for the Vivo V17 Pro. Otherwise you can do much better especially at this price.

To get it right off the bat the V17 Pro is a good smartphone to consider if the camera is your key concern. It should also be considered if you want your smartphone to be innovative or have dual pop-up camera setup. Overall, I believe if you want a good camera in your smartphone and are not going to spend a penny more than Rs 30,000, then the V17 Pro is the one for you. If the camera can be compromised, there are other options available.

Vivo V17 Pro seems to be a decent smartphone with good camera capabilities. The design is solid and the display looks vivid and punchy. The battery backup is decent, considering the price tag and the hardware, it sure looks a bit overpriced. As for the competition is concerned, it will face stiff competition from the likes of Vivo NEX, OnePlus 6T, Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro, Samsung Galaxy A70 and more.

Vivo has put in good efforts to get the camera performance of Vivo V17 Pro right. Not only has it introduced different modes to click pictures, but the camera UI is also better and convenient. The shutter speed of the phone’s camera is pretty fast and the image processing is also quick.

Qualcomm Adreno 612: Integrated (in the Snapdragon 675) graphics card based on the Adreno 600 architecture. Our first benchmarks show a performance comparable to the old Adreno 512 and therefore in the lower mid-range. Supports DirectX11_1, Vulkan 1.0, OpenCL 2.0, OpenGL ES 3.2.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

SD 675: Fast mid-range ARM SoC with 8 CPU Kryo 460 cores (two fast 2 GHz ARM Cortex-A76 based cores in a cluster and six power saving ARM Cortex-A55 based cores at 1.6 GHz) and a rather slow Adreno 612 GPU. Manufactured in the 11 nm LPP process at Samsung.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
6.44":
It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.76.38%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
