Viewsonic: Viewpad 10 might get dual core Atom edge

Teaser
The Viewpad 10 will get the Atom N550 chip instead of the Atom N455 as was speculated earlier

The brand new Viewpad 10 (also known as Viewpad 100) by ViewSonic has been enjoying a major share of the limelight lately. It is common to our knowledge that the tablet enjoys a rare distinction of being one of the first ones to feature with a dual boot operating system. This implies that you can allow both Windows 7 and Google Android 1.6 to work for you. What surprises me here is the inclusion of such an old Android version in the times of Android 2.2 aka Froyo. In fact 1.6 had compatibility problems with lots of apps.

Well what is not known as of yet is whether the tablet will in all likelihood surprise us with the inclusion of a dual core Intel Atom N550 processor instead of the Intel Atom N455 single core processor that was supposed to come bundled with it. Note that although they both support DDR3 memory modules making them faster than the older Atoms – the N550 is expected to be significantly faster thanks to the two cores running at 1.5GHz each.

Well the news about the dual core Intel Atom N550 processor is still nebulous, not confirmed by official sources and is pretty much just rumor doing the rounds - so it cannot be entirely relied upon. Pre-orders for the Viewpad 10 have already begun at UK based retailers, so hurry if you want to book yourself a piece.
