Murmurs about Valorant landing on mobile have been around for several years, but none of the rumours ever materialized until now. Finally, the official Valorant account took to X and put those rumours to rest. Yes, Valorant Mobile is a thing, but you probably won't be able to play it in the immediate future.
For now, only users based in China can pre-register for Valorant Mobile. A play test is coming soon, but it isn't clear if global audiences will be able to participate in it. Regardless, it will easily be months before the game is available officially in China, and even longer globally. It'll be interesting to see what measures Riot takes to prevent players outside of China from running Valorant Mobile on their Android devices by sideloading its APK.
Nevertheless, the wait might be worth it because Riot has partnered with Lightspeed Studios (of the PUBG Mobile) fame to bring Valorant to mobile devices. Even though the game wasn't very demanding on PC to begin with, optimizing it to run on mobile devices with hundreds of different hardware configurations will be tricky, and perhaps that's why Riot is in no rush to release it.
