Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom (ZE553KL) Android smartphone coming soon

The handset that surfaced via both TENAA and Bluetooth SIG is also known as Asus Z01HD. Its specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and dual cameras on the back, hopefully with 3X optical zoom like the original ZenFone 3 Zoom had.

While the original Asus ZenFone Zoom offered a main camera with 3X optical zoom lens, its successor will take everything one step further by adding a dual camera setup to its list of specs. Unfortunately, it might come without optical zoom, but that remains to be seen. Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom is not official yet, but it recently surfaced on Bluetooth SIG and TENAA, so it will probably arrive soon.

According to the official websites mentioned above, the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom (ZE553KL) is also known as Asus Z01HD and has the following highlights: Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 2 GB/16 GB or 4 GB/64 GB memor/storage variants, 13 MP front camera, 12.2 MP and 13 MP rear cameras, a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display protected by 2.5D glass, all powered by a generous 5,000 mAh battery.

There is no official information about the announcement date of this handset, but since its predecessor was unveiled back in January 2015, at CES, we might see it show up next month at the global consumer electronics and consumer technology tradeshow that takes place in Las Vegas.

Although I have been writing about new software and hardware for almost a decade, I consider myself to be old school. I always enjoy listening to music on CD or tape instead of digital files and I will not even get into the touchscreen vs physical keys debate. However, I also enjoy new technology, as I now have the chance to take a look at the future every day. I joined the Notebookcheck crew back in 2013 and I have no plans to leave the ship anytime soon.
