Photos of Acer’s upcoming Ultrabook have supposedly leaked, and the design is like nothing Acer has ever released.
According to SlashGear, the leaked pictures of the Aspire 2951 first appeared on a Vietnamese website, but the page has since been taken down. The Sandy Bridge notebook, if real, owes much of its design to the Apple MacBook Air, especially its large touchpad and choice of colors. As one might expect, the unit should be coming incredibly thin and light, supposedly at 13mm (.51 inches) thick and 1.4kg (3.09 pounds).
A handful of hardware specs may have leaked as well. Buyers may be able to equip the 13.3-inch Acer with either a HDD or SSD, while connectivity options galore with HDMI, multi-card reader and Bluetooth 4.0. At least one USB port is rumored as well, but whether it will be 2.0 or 3.0 is unspecified.
The sources are pointing out a price point of around $768 up to $960, which would make this Acer ultrabook a good buy given what we know so far. However, we could be seeing the ultrathin notebook in the market before the end of the year if all goes as planned for the Taiwanese manufacturer.
