Toshiba MK8025GAL

The Toshiba MK8025GAL is an 80 GB and 4200 RPM hard drive disk. It's a very lightweight HDD; as such, the Toshiba was used in various portable devices including netbooks, media players, MacBooks, iPods. We first tested the 1.8" drive in 2009.

Performance

At around 30 MB/s (HD Tune 2.54), the drive's real-world data transfer rate is mediocre at best.

Power consumption

The HDD's peak power consumption is supposed to be under 1.65 W. This makes MK8025GAL a relatively power-efficient data storage device.
