Toshiba Excite 10 tablet now available for purchase

Close to a month ago, Toshiba unveiled three new tablets as part of their back to school lineup, and the first of the trio is now on sale.

Starting from today, the Toshiba Excite 10 can be ordered from select retailers online, including Amazon. As far as specs go, the 10.1” tablet features a 1280x800 pixel resolution protected behind a sheet of Corning Gorilla Glass, an NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The Excite 10 also comes with a pair of cameras and Toshiba's claim that it lasts up to 10 hours on a single charge.

For the time being, only the 16GB version can be ordered- for a price of $499. However, 32GB and 64GB models are in the pipeline, with the Toshiba site estimating a 2 week and 5 week wait time for the devices, respectively.
