An American company has just developed a rather impressive spacecraft. Indeed, it will be capable of delivering packages anywhere on Earth in less than an hour.

Over the years, numerous advances have been made in the space sector, enabling the revival of projects such as returning humans to the Moon, or even beginning to develop manned missions to Mars. But recently, another project has emerged: a spacecraft capable of delivering anywhere on Earth in less than an hour.

Space is increasingly becoming a field for innovation, and the American company Inversion has clearly understood this. On October 1, it unveiled its new project in Los Angeles, called Arc. And the promise of this prototype is quite incredible, as it should be able to deliver packages weighing up to 500 lbs anywhere on Earth in less than an hour.

To see it in action, we will have to wait until 2026, when the company will send it into space to remain in orbit. It will then wait for a message indicating a specific delivery and will begin its descent to Earth, deploying various parachutes before landing. It should be noted that this craft is designed to remain in orbit for a maximum of five years.

However, don't expect this type of delivery for your everyday needs. Arc is primarily intended for military and national defense purposes, as Justin Fiaschetti explains to Ars Technica:

"This could be a wide variety of specific payloads, anything from medical supplies to drones to what have you. But the key discriminator is, does this make a difference in the moment it's needed when it gets back down to the ground? You know, for the military and national security, if they need their cargo before the fight is over.”

But it will be necessary to see whether this project can be implemented and whether it will be truly effective. To do so, many developments will still need to take place.
