At IFA in Berlin, Acer has unveiled a brand-new laptop for enterprise users, the Acer TravelMate X4 14. This aluminum-clad business will enter the market in the fourth quarter of 2025 for a modest price: It will only cost around €1,180 in the EU.
For this price, the Acer laptop with the full model-number of TMX414-51 features an Intel Lunar Lake processor, ranging from Ultra 5 226V to the Ultra 7 258V, up to 32 GB RAM and 1 TB of SSD storage. These components are put into a 1.27 kg chassis that also integrates a 14-inch screen that has a WUXGA resolution (1,920 x 1,200).
Buyers get two choices here: An IPS screen that covers 100 percent of the sRGB color space, or an OLED panel that covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Both screens have similar specs otherwise, including up to 500 cd/m² brightness and a refresh-rate of 120 Hz - which is especially impressive for the cheaper IPS screen, as other manufacturers tend to bundle higher-refresh rate options with OLED screens on business laptops, like is the case for the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 (available on Amazon).
Less impressive is that Acer still feels the need to save some money by including a USB 2.0 port, as one of the two USB-A ports tops out at the long obsolete standard. At least, there also are two fast Thunderbolt 4 ports available, as well as HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 and a 1080p IR webcam.
WWAN is not an option for this model, signaling that this Acer TravelMate laptop may be more targeted at smaller companies. On the other hand, the Acer TravelMate X4 14 has an RJ45-Ethernet port, making it a great option for IT departments and professionals reliant on a cable connection. The battery of the Acer TravelMate X4 14 has a respectable capacity of 65 Wh, which should enable up to 12 hrs of battery life according to Acer.
