Motorola has been awfully quiet about their next major release in the tablet market following the launch of the Xoom, but a few recently registered domain names by the company could be hinting at a possible new name.
According to Fusible, Motorola registered five new domain names revolving around the word “Kore” on August 3rd. The registered URLs include names like MotorolaKore.com, KoreMotorola.com and MotoKore.com.
Unfortunately, there is currently no telling if the Kore is indeed a tablet, smartphone, or some other device. An unnamed LTE-enabled Motorola tablet did arrive at the FCC early last month, however, but whether or not the Kore moniker is related remains to be seen.
Regardless, the successor to the Xoom tablet, be it Xoom 2 or Kore, is rumored to be launching later this year with a 2048x1536 resolution display, Android 4.0 and Nvidia’s quad-core Tegra 3.
