It seems that Huawei has decided against the scheduled dates for its EMUI 11 upgrade plans. However, it is good news for consumers, as Huawei has started delivering its latest OS upgrade early, albeit while EMUI 10.1 upgrade plans remain outstanding. It took Huawei months to finish most EMUI 10.1 upgrade plans, so it will probably be the same for its EMUI 11 upgrade plans, also.
According to Huawei Ailesi, EMUI 11 started reaching the P40, P40 Pro and Mate 30 Pro in Turkey from November 27, for which it has provided screenshots. We have included these below, although they only appear to be for the P40 Pro and not for the P40 and Mate 30 Pro, too. It is unclear in which upgrade plan Turkey resides, but the Mate 30 Pro and P40 series are scheduled to receive EMUI 11 from December in the following regions:
- Africa
- Asia Pacific
- North-Eastern Europe
- Russia
- The Middle East
- Western Europe
By contrast, other regions like Latin America and Japan must wait until January 2021 for equivalent updates. Huawei has scheduled a vague 'Q1 2021' for all but a handful of devices, so EMUI 11 may not arrive on these globally until March 2021. The company may take a few months to finish its upgrade plans though, as it rolls out updates in batches. Hence, some people may be waiting for EMUI 11 until next summer. Hopefully, Huawei will have moved EMUI 11 onto Android 11 by then, mind you.
