Tesla touts Dog Mode chew toy as peanut butter delivery system in new pet accessory line

Tesla is known for releasing cheeky accessories, and the examples are plenty, but the new Dog Mode chew toy may be taking the cake in that respect.
The new line of accessories that Tesla introduced to market the Pet Mode option inside its vehicles includes a chew toy made of durable rubber for the respective chewing purpose. Tesla, however, called it the "Dog Mode Chew Toy" and designed it with an opening for laying treats or, ostensibly, made it "peanut butter-compatible" for some mysterious reason.
While peanut butter is fine for dogs in moderation, as long as it doesn't contain the toxic for them xylitol, the Dog Mode chew toy is a rather tongue-in-cheek item that only costs $20, one of the cheapest Tesla accessories money can buy.
The line includes more practical items such as a new Cybertruck pet liner for $145, styled after the Model Y one, as well as a cool Dog Mode bandana for $15 with the Tesla logo on it. The pet set continues with a couple of children's tees, as well as a large Dog Mode Plushie for $35.
Tesla's Pet Mode, formerly called Dog Mode, is a feature available in its vehicles that keeps the cabin at a comfortable temperature for a pet left in the car while the owner is away. It also displays a message on the touchscreen letting passersby know the dog is safe so that they don't get any idea to break the window or call the police.
It's a rather useful safety feature for running a quick errand, but it's worth keeping in mind that it takes a toll on the battery, so some owners still treat it as a backup rather than a substitute for not leaving pets unattended for long periods. Still, Tesla wants to popularize the feature and now has the line of cheeky accessories to do it.
