Tablet growth to slow in 2012?

Teaser
The future for the tablets and Smartphone industries might be depressing as a recent prediction from CEA

From the day since the Tablets and the Smartphones were released to the market there has been an increase in the sale of these devices leading to a constant growth. But now with the CEA, the peoples behind CES have predicted that a big fall in popularity of the devices will be noticed by 2012.

Steve Koenig, director and industry analyst at the CEA, noted 2011 as a massive year for tablets and there was 207 percent growth in buying of the tablets. However this number will be slashed to 59 percent in 2012. The same will also be the fate of smartphones which is predicted to be falling from 63 percent to 22 percent.

One of the major reasons they believe to be causing so is the applications available in the market. Which might be because of personalization of the devices by the consumers with applications and this prevents them from looking for another upgrade.

However, despite of this drop in popularity of the devices, the CEA still believes the smartphones as well as the tablets to be one of the hottest products for CES 2012. They also predicted that their market will also hit $1 trillion in 2012 for $961 billion in 2011.
