Starlink Canada is running a limited-time offer for new customers interested in the Roam plan. The package was specifically designed for travellers in places where regular mobile service or Wi-Fi doesn’t work well.
The promo applies to both the Roam 50GB Plan and the Roam Unlimited Plan. New subscribers now get the Roam 50GB Plan for $39 CAD per month for the first six months instead of the usual $70 CAD per month. This is about 44% off.
The Roam Unlimited Plan is also reduced from $189 CAD per month to $110 CAD per month, bringing it down by 40%. However, after the promo period, the price returns to the standard rate.
This promotion follows a recent change that drew criticism from subscribers. Previously, Roam users could pause their plan for free when not traveling. That feature has now been replaced with a paid ‘Standby Mode’ costing $7 CAD per month. Users, however, will still get unlimited slow internet, not high-speed.
While the free pause is unlikely to return anytime soon, the introductory promo could be an enticing perk to attract new users, despite the added cost.
Starlink is also giving $350 off its Standard dish kit in Canada. Instead of paying $599 CAD, new customers can pay only $249 CAD for a dish kit and receive six months of Roam service for a very low entry price.
In the U.S., the dish is also 50% off, and Starlink has reduced monthly fees for Residential plans in some regions.
