The Xperia X and XA series of smartphones have only been in market since June, yet new models for the Xperia family continue to leak. The Xperia F8331, for example, will likely launch as the Xperia XR with flagship specifications. Sony is expected to formally announce the device come September 1st during a briefing at this year's IFA in Berlin. While we have had a good look at the supposed Xperia XR through existing leaks, it wasn't until now that press renders have surfaced.
These new images show a slightly different design than what was previously suggested. The edges are sharper and the new color scheme appears closer to the blue option offered by the Galaxy Note 7. OnLeaks is further claiming that the new Sony smartphone will measure 146.4 x 71.9 x 8.1 mm to be larger than its existing Xperia X and XA peers. A USB Type-C port can also be spotted based on the leaked images. Other expected features include 4K-capable cameras on both the front and rear with a FHD display. It remains to be seen if Sony will offer a 4K UHD display option as well.
